Restoration & Modernization of Main Ravi Canal & Its Distribution Network (AIBP):
The Project has been approved by Planning Commission of India vide their no. 2(25)/1/2010-WR dated: 27-07-2010 under AIBP (CSS) during the year 2010-11 with an estimated cost of Rs.62.27 Crores. During 2010-11and 2011-12 funds amounting to Rs1101.00 Lacs (Rs. 210.00 Lacs SS & Rs. 891.00 CA) have been received and an expenditure of Rs. 780.79 Lacs upto ending 03/2012 have been reported. The unspent balance of Rs. 320.21 Lacs have been revalidated for utilization during year 2012-13. Besides funds amounting to Rs. 1452.70 Lacs (Rs. 182.00 Lacs as SS & Rs. 1270.70 Lacs as CA) have been received. An expenditure of Rs.1428.56 Lacs (SS 182.00 Lacs & CA 926.35 Lacs & Rev. 320.21 Lacs) have been reported during 2012-13. An allocation of Rs. 1875.00 Lacs (Rs. 175.00 Lacs as State Share & Rs. 1700.00 Lacs Center Share) has been proposed for the year 2013-14.
Extension of balance portion of Main Ravi Canal from Basantpur to U/s Ranjit Sagar Dam near village Satwain in District Kathua:
As per the DPR submitted by M/S WAPCOS Pvt. Ltd. the estimated cost of the work “Extension of balance portion of Main Ravi Canal from Basantpur to U/s Ranjit Sagar Dam near village Satwain in District Kathua” works out to Rs.410.00 Crores comprising of Rs.275.00 Crores as civil component and Rs.135.00 Crores as the power component. The report has been sent to the Planning & Development Department and Finance Department for according concurrence for accord of Administrative Approval. The concurrence of Planning & Development Department has been received but the same is pending before the Finance Department . The funding for the said project is to be done out of the ‘Water Usage Charges’ as per Cabinet Decision No. 17/2/2012 dated 10.01.2012. During 2011-12 additional funds amounting to Rs. 20.00 Crores were received to start the work. Out of this Rs. 0.75 Crore were utilized on account of work done by M/s WAPCOS and other survey work at site for land acquisition. During 2012-13, no funds have been received. The project also submitted to CWC, GOI for considering of funding under AIBP.
